That’s why I legally immigrated from collectivist, statist and socialist France. Look at Europe now. Freedom brings prosperity. Statism, collectivism and socialism bring scarcity. They blame it on Russia but it’s only to mask the State’s ineptitude and parasitic nature. I despise the State the older I get.

That's my lifestyle here in psychotic SF, where you escaped from to get the kids a better life, sans the coffee & beers (not that there's anything wrong w/them). I think I last saw a doctor about 10 years ago for a tough splinter removal that he did a great job on. Then I had to argue w/him about my refusal to take a tetanus shot (for a wooden splinter?), and I pointed out to him that he was using anecdotal evidence. He gave up after a minute.

100% with you Daniel!

Pretty sure I can't run a marathon though 😉

Funny that the ones who want to dictate our lives always do that with a pseudo moral highground... People who think they are superior and can impose on others their way of life. The prevailing ideology these days that we need to beat. They can do what they want (poison themselves with mask, destroy their endothelium with vaccines...) and let us live our lives freely with our kids!

Gen-X rules :) (except for the smoking part, and the fact that I've taken vitamins daily for years, I could have written this! 52 years and counting ...)

I used to smoke a lot. I quit and think it's pretty gross now.

I started dipping. That's even grosser, but ironical not as bad for your health but worse for your marriage. But being married is bad for your marriage,

I dip nicotine pouches. I need to get more exercise. Glad I going you ... Thanks to Bret Weinstein's sophistry.

Doctors do much more than tell people "how to live".

In fact, I don't recall ever telling one of my patients "how to live".

I wish you and all members of your family good health and hope that you have a caring and talented physician available when you or a loved one becomes ill.

I think people generalize from the aging process that the human body is frail and wears down easily. If you understand telomeres you understand that we are genetically programmed to age and die. We don't wear down, we break on purpose.

I think we evolved to die so we wouldn't pollute our own genes with inbreeding. Dying is a feature, not a bug. Cultured cancer cells in labs live forever. Because they constantly add more telomeres so they never run out. The body sometimes does this during would repair. Our bodies can add lifespan to a cell if they want. But we die on purpose because that is how our bodies want it, not because our bodies are weak and frail.
