I am proud to be called an anti-vaxxer.
“Anti-vax” is only an epithet if we let it be. I want to reclaim it, the way that other marginalized groups have reclaimed epithets thrown at them.
It is considered the worst sort of insult to call someone an “anti-vaxxer.”
But I am not insulted when people call me that, I am proud.
“Anti-vax” is only an epithet if we let it be. I want to reclaim it, the way that other marginalized groups have reclaimed epithets thrown at them.
Anti-vaxxers oppose the right of the government to mandate vaccination as a condition of participation in society.
Some of us believe that certain vaccines don’t work as well as advertised.
Some of of us believe that no vaccines work as well as advertised.
All of us believe that no one should undergo any medical procedure, including vaccination, unless they have granted their full, informed consent.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you support state-sanctioned segregation and discrimination.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that the government has the right to force people to submit to unwanted pharmaceutical injections.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that there is no right to bodily autonomy.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that there is no right to medical privacy.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that education is not a right, but a privilege reserved for those who surrender control of their bodies to the government.
In fact, if you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that all of our civil liberties can be revoked if we don’t follow government orders.
If you are not an anti-vaxxer, then you believe that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are not unalienable rights bestowed by our Creator, but contingent privileges bestowed by our government.
Say it with me, say it loud, we are anti-vaxxers and we are proud.
Proud to be against medical segregation aka an anti-vaxxer. I’ll never forget the people that were ok with not allowing people without vax cards to eat indoors. I’ll never forget the friends of mine that kept silent. They aren’t really my friends any more. I didn’t expect them to protest (although it would have been nice). They could have at least said to me “it is messed up that they discriminate against you like that.” But even that small gesture was too much to ask from the vaxxers.
I just wanted to be allowed to sit indoors and have a sandwich.
I’m printing this out and leaving copies everywhere I go, especially doctor’s offices.
